Teambuilding - Communication Works!
This session commences with the Team discussing the meaning and use of communication … and its importance to team understanding and clarity of purpose in the work place.
The why’s, when’s, what’s and how’s will be discussed, with demonstrations of how to communicate clearly, and interpret, without ambiguity.
This is then followed by a collection of experiential tasks, challenges and modules which are designed to lead the team by example; such as:
- Town to Town
- Describe the object to others who can’t see it
- Write the rules to the game
- Pass on the message – a simple message has to be passed down a line of people (all 20). Only
the first link in the chain knows this and they can only tell the next person - Instruct to build
- Blind guidance
- Tell to trust, trust to tell
It’s a morning of consolidation and strengthening where the learning is progressive, as what is leaned on each example is carried forward, re-enforced and consolidated on the next; building team
understanding.
“Communication” appears to be an apparently simple concept; but, there can a great deal of complexity hidden in the lack of it, or use of it, which if not grasped, will serve only to frustrate progress and deny cohesion and create stress.
Our aim is to discuss, apply and practice the principles of good communication and the benefits it brings to team harmony and cohesion in real work situations.
